This historic building used to be the childhood home of Margaret Laurence, the author known for her stories about the town of "Manawaka," based on Neewapa. The original furnishings are preserved and the house also has a piano, typewriter and doctoral robes. A gift and souvenir shop is located within the home. An annual antique sale is held at the house every July. The home is open daily from May to October.
